Claire, who was outside the door, became worried. She started wondering what was happening in the study. Minutes later, Hunter and her father got out of the study.
"Are you guys done?"
"Yes, this son-in-law is very great. You guys can go to sleep right now.''
"I'll ask Maggie to go and prepare him a separate room."
"Don't bother, the both of you can stay in the same room. "
"I have-----"
"What do you have? Is there something that I shouldn't know that you're hiding? "
"No.' The both of them said together.
'This is the first time I hear a father accepting someone else of the same gender to stay in the same room as their daughter."
"Well, mine is different I believe that you guys will not break up anytime soon."
"Don't worry, we will be in the same room. I am going to prepare the room."
Mr. Phillips went back to the study as hunter went to the living room and continued his conversation with Mrs. Phillips. After some time, Mrs. Phillips took Hunter to her daughter's room.
" I never thought that one day I would see a son in law."
"Why?"
"She had sworn to herself never to marry, who thought that one day she would bring me a son in law. Take care of her for me, ok?"
"I will, don't worry."
They had reached at Claire's door and then Hunter got in after bidding her good night. He stretched himself as he went to bed. Claire was not in the room. Hunter assumed that she was not there. He looked around the room and saw that the colour of the room, it looked more similar to her personality. Her things were well kept. As he was still looking around, Claire came in, she had only a towel wrapped around her body water was still running down her thighs, she came in as she was drying her hair. Hunter looked at her and gulped hard. He was staring at her figure, he was drooling. Claire looked at him quizzically.
"What are you looking at?"
"Nothing."
"It better be go and have a shower and calm yourself down stop acting like a dog."
Hunter looked at his fly and went to the bathroom.
"Did you have to be direct?" He said mumbling to himself.
"What did you say?"
"You have misheard." He smiled at her and only met a pair of cold eyes looking at him. He got in the bathroom.
He got out of the bathroom later and found two blankets on the floor: one spread on the floor and the other on the pillow above it. She threw a pair of pajamas to him.
"Change into those."
"Ok."
Hunter went back to the bathroom and changed into them. He went back and found Claire on her laptop.
"Are you still working?"
Claire murmured a simple mm mm and continued with whatever she was doing on her laptop. Hunter went and snatched the laptop from her.
"Return my laptop, immediately."
"I promised your mom that I will take care of you and I have to take care of you by ensuring you have zero screen time before bed."
