Chapter 16 - Monkeys

Danny, Kim, and Ron were sitting in a military plane, surrounded by American soldiers. They were gonna parachute down when they got over their drop zone. Kim was talking to Colonel Jerkin about the mission that she did to earn the favor. Ron was trapped between two beefy soldiers and Danny was next to Kim, texting Jazz on his phone.

-

"Thanks so much for the lift, Colonel." Kim said to Jerkin.

-

"Well, after the way you tipped us off to that assault, Miss.Possible. It's an honor and a Privilege." Jerkin said to Kim.

-

"Anybody got gum." Ron said, trying to lighten the mood. The eyes of both the soldiers he was trapped between popped their eyes open at his remark and Ron chuckled nervously.

-

'Creepy.' Danny thought to himself. He saw the text that Jazz sent about their parents showing the Possibles the database that Phantom had given them of the ghosts and spirits in the area of the portal as he got up from his seat along with Kim and Ron. The three heroes put on parachutes and made their way to the door of the plane.

-

"You sure you three can handle jumping out of a plane?" Colonel Jerkin asked, looking at the three teenagers before him.

-

"Yes, we have done this plenty of times." Kim said, lying just a little in Danny's case.

-

"Very well then. We're over your drop point. Get going now." Jerkin said to the three teenagers.

-

Kim jumped out first without hesitation, then Ron jumped and finally Danny. Danny hesitated not because of the height, but because this was the first time actually parachuting alone. Danny jumped, knowing that he could just use his powers to right himself, and quickly flew towards Kim and Ron. There was a few moments before Kim said to pull the chutes that Danny enjoyed the freefall. 'I have to try this as Phantom some time.' Danny thought to himself. Scylla and Charybdis, who had been flying outside of the plane joined the trio just as Kim said to pull the chutes. Danny followed the order and the parachute caught the air and jerked him up after a moment.

-

"How's parachuting by yourself feel?" Ron asked.

-

"The freefall was fun, but the chute catching the wind is gonna take some getting used to." Danny answered honestly.

-

"You didn't notice any of that when you parachuted with me?" Kim asked, gliding closer to the two boys.

-

"I was a bit focused on not focusing on the feel of your body on mine." Danny answered honestly again, bringing a blush to his and Kim's face.

-

"Right." Kim said. "I see the landing zone. Aim for that clearing." She commanded and the two boys tried their best to follow. Ron got stuck and tangled in a tree while Danny's parachute got caught on a large branch and he was hanging in the air. Danny used his aura to make the chute intangible, and he fell the rest of the way to the ground, landing in a crouching position and getting covered by the parachute.

-

As Danny was fighting to get out of his parachute, Kim was helping Ron out of his mess. Ron landed next to Danny with a loud thud followed by the ruffling of the parachute covering both Danny and Ron. Danny got frustrated and just went intangible and grabbed Ron to pull them out of the chutes. Kim was watching the whole thing unfold while she was re-packing her parachute. Danny and Ron packed their chutes and made their way to the meeting point.

-

"Nice place, K.P." Ron said as they were nearing the meeting point. "Come for the humidity, stay for the leeches." He said before Kim and Danny gasped at the monkey temple. They already knew about the monkey statue but weren't told about the temple. "Huh?"

-

"A monkey temple." Kim said, astonished.

-

"M-m-m-monkey." Ron stammered out.

-

"What's with him?" Danny asked.

-

"He had to bunk with a summer camp mascot that was a chimp, now he's afraid of all primates except humans." Kim explained.

-

"Miss.Possible. I presume?" A voice sounded from behind them. "I am Lord Monty Fisk. And this is my valet, Bates." The voice, Lord Fisk, introduced himself and his companion.

-

"As you surmised, I'm Kim. And these are my boyfriend Danny, and my friend Ron. Don't mind Ron, bad summer camp memories." Kim said after introducing the group.

-

"He does seem rather troubled." Bates said to the red headed heroine.

-

"He had to bunk with a wild chimp during that summer camp." Kim told Bates.

-

"That was one crazy monkey." Ron said after he got out of his fear induced trance.

-

"You do know, of course, that chimpanzees are actually part of the ape family." Lord Fisk said, pondering Ron's intelligence. "They're not monkeys at all."

-

"Monkeys! Apes! They all hold stuff with their feet, man. We're talking freaks of nature." Ron said, grabbing one of his own feet while explaining his fear.

-

"I will be discussing the nature of this mission with Miss.Possible and her boyfriend from here on out." Lord Fisk said, turning to the couple. "If you follow me, I'll lead you to where you're supposed to be." He said as he and his valet walked towards the temple.

-

When Lord Fisk and his valet were a few steps ahead of them, Kim spoke to Ron. "Get a grip will you?"

-

"Mark my words, Kim. His Lordship is 500 miles of bad road." Ron told Kim.

-

"I have to agree with Ron here. My empath abilities are telling me that this isn't just an archaeologist looking to preserve a piece of history. I don't know if he is a villain, or what, but he is not in it for the history." Danny whispered

-

"Ron, Danny, Lord Monty Fisk is a world famous explorer and a highly respected scholar, I don't think he is wanting to use the idol for nefarious purposes." Kim told the two boys.

-

"Whatever you say Kim. You're the boss." Danny relented quickly, not wanting to have a fight.

-

"Okay, I'll calm down, but I reserve the right to say I told you so." Ron said as he relented and they caught up with Lord Fisk and his valet.

-

"According to this map, the jade statue is here." He pointed to a spot on the piece of paper he had in his hands, showing Kim what it was.

-

"What's the statue of?" Ron inquired, unaware of the type of temple he was visiting.

-

"A monkey." Lord Fisk said, smiling at Ron's shuddering. Danny felt a sick pleasure coming off of Lord Fisk when he did that.

-

'I'll have to keep an eye on him.' Danny thought to himself. "What's the Jade monkey supposed to do?" He asked his lordship.

-

"The locals believed that placing this icon in precise alignment with three others will generate a mystical monkey power." Lord Fisk explained, showing Danny the diagram on the map. "Utter nonsense, of course." He chuckled and Danny got waves of lies from him.

-

"Of course." Danny agreed with what his lordship said. 'Keep an eye on him. Only watch him. I'll deal with the consequences later.' Danny telepathically told both of the ectopi on his shoulders. They gave their affirmations.

-

Kim and Danny started walking to the entrance. "I'm gonna stay right here." Ron said, trembling.

-

"Fine." Danny told Ron before leaning in to whisper. "I have the ectopi on watching his Lordship in case something bad happens." This caused Ron to relax.

Kim and Danny walked up to the entrance of the monkey temple. "You stay here. I'll go in first." Kim told the half dead boy, who nodded and took a half step back. Kim walked in completely until she made it in front of a monkey statue. She fell through the ground.

-

"Kim!" Danny yelled as he rushed in with ghost speed and joined her in her descent. Kim was yelling as she was falling down and only stopped when Danny caught her and started slowing down until they safely landed on the ground.

"Thanks for the save, but I'm sure I could've come up with something." Kim told her boyfriend.

-

"I know you could've, But I didn't want to risk it. I just got you as a girlfriend, I don't want to lose you over something stupid like a pit trap." Danny told Kim, causing her to blush.

-

"Do you think we're going a little too fast, calling ourselves boyfriend and girlfriend if we haven't even been on a single date?" Kim asked as they looked around.

-

"I don't think so, but I'm not the best person to ask. I'm not the one who's a social butterfly." Danny commented on Kim's ability to talk to anyone.

-

"I guess you're right. We're fine as long as we don't overdo it." Kim said as she inspected the walls and the moving jaws.

-

"As I said, I don't know much about social norms, so it's your call." Danny told her.

-

"At least the walls aren't… moving." She said just as the walls started to move.

-

Danny picked Kim up and flew up above the walls. The walls closed to make a solid floor under them. Danny put Kim down. "I feel so welcome here." Danny and Kim said sarcastically and in unison.

-

"Jinx, you owe me a soda." Kim said quickly.

-

"I'll get you that when we get home." Danny told Kim. "Let's look for the idol." He said as they started exploring the area.

-

"You think it's past that hall of open mouth monkeys?" Kim asked, pointing down the only hallway.

-

"Thinking they're dart traps?" Danny asked and Kim nodded. "Okay then, grab onto me and I'll make us intangible." Danny held his hand out to her.

-

Kim took the offered hand. "This will be our first stroll as a couple." She joked, getting a laugh from Danny. They walked into the hallway, but instead of darts, it was fire that was shooting out of the mouths and eyes of the monkeys.

-

At the end of the hallway, there was a set of stairs. They climbed it, Danny keeping a hand on Kim in case of another trap. As they were climbing it, sounds of monkeys were screeching in the corridor, almost deafening to the couple. They had to cover their ears from the intense sound and fell into a spike trap. Danny reacted quickly and grabbed Kim before they hit the spikes.

-

"There's the Jade Monkey." Kim said, pointing behind Danny. "Land us between the spikes and I'll grab it." She said and Danny followed her command.

-

"You should check it out with your goggles before you grab it." Danny reminded her.

-

Kim nodded and turned the Blade from a wallet into a pair of goggles and put them on. "I see a small ectoplasmic signature, it shouldn't have much juice, if Lord Fisk wants to use it for its magical properties." She said as she turned the goggles into a tattoo. "What do you think will happen if I remove the idol?" She asked the half ghost boy.

-

"My bet is that it'll release us right where we started." Danny said.

-

"So we're betting now, what are the stakes?" Kim asked.

-

"Whoever loses has to buy us dinner?" Danny suggested. "Us, including Ron and Rufus." He added for clarification.

-

"You're on. My bet will be that it has a self-destruction defense mechanism in case someone tries to merge all four idols." Kim gave her bet.

-

"Go ahead and grab it." Danny said, snaking an arm around Kim's waist in case she was right.

-

They both blushed and Kim lifted the Jade Monkey off of the pedestal. The pedestal and the spikes lowered into the ground and the floor slanted down towards an open hatch. Danny let them slide down the floor to the hatch, which revealed a slide that led them to the entrance where Ron, Lord Fisk, and Bates were waiting for them.

-

"Kim, Danny, what happened?" Ron asked.

-

"Kim Possible, I shall see to it that the National Museum celebrates your heroic efforts." Lord Fisk told the red head. "Same for you as well Danny." He added as Kim handed him the Jade Monkey.

-

"It was no big." Kim and Danny said in unison, though Danny said it in a mocking sort of way, earning a glare from Kim.

-

"Looks like you owe Ron and I dinner, Kimberly." Danny said as the five of them left the temple.

-

"Yeah, yeah. I know." Kim said in a faux annoyed fashion

-

"What are you two talking about?" Ron whispered to the couple.

-

"We made a bet about what would happen after Kim lifted the statue off its pedestal. I won. The bet was who would pay for dinner when we got home." Danny informed the blond boy.

-

"Right on. So, how are we getting home?" Ron asked.

-

Kim pulled out her communicator. "Hey Wade, do we have a ride home yet?"

-

"Sorry, not at this time. I could get you set up for tomorrow morning, but that's the earliest I can do." Wade told the heroes.

-

"You three can stay at our camp until morning." Lord Fisk said, having not been far from the conversation.

-

"Thank you, your lordship." Kim said as he led the way.

-

"Bates, what's on the menu for tonight? We have three guests joining us." Lord Fisk said.

-

Danny tuned out the conversation. 'Did anything happen while Kim and I were gone?' He asked through the telepathic link.

-

'Nothing of import. They all were just waiting for you two to come out.' Scylla responded.

-

'I got the feelings of annoyance and anger off of Lord Fisk, but that could just be because he was close to Ron.' Charybdis told Danny.

-

'Okay, just remember to only keep an eye on everything. I think something is gonna happen tonight that involves his lordship.' Danny thought to his ectopi as the group made their way to the camp. When they made it to the camp, Danny spoke up. "I'm gonna call my family and tell them that we're staying the night in Cambodia." He told the group.

-

"Okay, see if my parents are still at your place." Kim said.

-

"Will do." Danny told Kim. Danny grabbed his phone and called Jazz, thinking that she's his best bet on who would answer the quickest. Jazz answered the phone. "Hey Jazz."

-

"Hey little brother. Where are you right now?" Jazz asked.

-

"Still in Cambodia. Wade said that the earliest ride he can get us is the next morning. So we're staying the night with the person who called in the mission." Danny told Jazz. "I will stay separated from Kim during the night, so you don't have to say anything." He added when he heard an intake of breath on Jazz's side of the phone.

-

"Good to know. Did she really ask you out on the way to her house?" Jazz asked, relieved that her brother was being responsible.

-

"Yes she did, though I think it was a roundabout way. I still appreciate it. Are Kim's parents still there?" Danny asked his sister, suddenly worried about the answer.

-

"They just left. Is she not gonna call them?" Jazz asked.

-

"I don't know about that, she just told me to ask if they were still there." Danny said, defending Kim.

-

"Okay. What was the mission, if you don't mind my asking?" Jazz asked.

-

"It was to retrieve a Jade Statue from a monkey temple. Kim and I were successful and we got it out." Danny told Jazz an embellished story that sounded realistic if he didn't have ghost powers.

-

"That's just a cover for your secret in case someone hears you, isn't it?" Jazz asked her little brother.

-

"Yeah. Could you tell mom and dad that I'm staying the night here?" Danny asked.

-

"Sure, also, the festival question from your earlier text, was it for time travel?" Jazz asked about the time date.

-

"Yeah, my assignment is about the 1939 World's Fair in New York. I was planning on doing some studying for it tomorrow with Kim. Do you think you could gather some research material about what people wore there?" Danny asked, trying to make the cover as simple as it could be.

-

"So, you are going on a date to the World's Fair in 1939 New York and need something to wear. Did I get that right?" Jazz asked, deducing the cover for what Danny was really saying.

-

"Yeah, I would really appreciate it." Danny told her. "Tell mom and dad that I love them." He said.

-

"I will. To both of those. I'll have your choice of outfits for the Fair, and maybe some for Kim while I'm at it. Bye." Jazz said before hanging up.

-

Danny put away his phone and saw that Kim was walking towards him with two plates of food. "Thanks for bringing me a plate, but you didn't have to." He told his girlfriend.

-

"But I wanted to. Did you just ask your sister about our date tomorrow?" Kim asked and Danny nodded. "Okay. Is she gonna do what you said?" She asked.

-

"That's what she said. She said she was going to find 'Research Material' for both of us about what was worn during the 1939 World's Fair." Danny told Kim.

-

'Danny, we have news. Lord Fisk is planning to masquerade as a ninja and fake steal the statue tonight.' Charybdis and Scylla said through the telepathic link.

-

Danny took his plate from Kim and followed her to the campsite. 'Do you think he has all four now? That could be bad if they work.' Danny sent through the telepathic link.

-

'Yes, he mentioned to Bates that he finally has them all. I think he plans on using them soon after he leaves here.' Scylla said through the link.

-

'We should stay and follow him to the place where he has the statues and steal them from him. Better in your hands than his.' Charybdis said through the link.

-

'I agree with Charybdis. I'll make a clone to follow him. I was planning on doing so anyway because we're testing the time travel ability of the Blade and I want to see how long we would be gone.' Danny thought to them as he made an invisible clone of Phantom. 'Didn't know I could do that.' Danny thought to himself.

-

"What are you thinking about?" Kim asked Danny, seeing a focused look on his face.

-

"Just our date tomorrow." Danny gave her a small lie. "I really can't wait for it, can you?" Danny asked his girlfriend.

-

"I can't wait for it either. I know you made a clone. Why?" Kim asked, switching to Gholric at the end.

-

"The ectopi are getting bad reads off of his lordship and his valet." Danny told her, speaking in Gholric himself. "I am only using the clone as a lookout to see if he does anything suspicious. Ron could be right, you know." Danny told her, looking over at Ron who was eating with gusto. "I'll be on the first watch." Danny said in English. "You know, just in case someone were to hear about Lord Fisk's discovery and all. I don't need as much sleep." He said to the group.

-

"Good idea, Danny. Thank you for volunteering." Lord Fisk said, clasping his hands together. "I wouldn't want the statue stolen after all."

-

"No, you wouldn't. It would be a major discovery for anyone who brings it to the museum." Danny said, trying not to glare at the man. Danny sent his clone to watch over the statue as everyone was finishing up their dinner. "Who should I wake up first after my turn?" He asked the group.

-

"You can wake me up for the second shift, then Ron can be third." Kim said, offering Ron the third spot.

-

"Just so you know, if I see a monkey, I'm screaming." Ron said as he went to one of the tents to sleep in.

-

Kim put her hand on Danny's arm and looked him in the eyes. "Good luck. I hope you don't need it." She said, slipping into Gholric at the end. Kim went to another tent and started to go to sleep.

=

It was a few hours after Kim and Ron went to bed that it started. Danny was standing guard at the head of the camp and at the statue with his clone when the ectopi alerted Danny that Lord Fisk was on the move. Danny scanned the trees with his new night vision, which was just putting ectoplasm in his eyes, and found Lord Fisk swinging in them. He wasn't as silent as he wanted to be, because he woke Ron up.

-

"Kim! I think there's a monkey in the camp." Ron said, waking Kim up.

-

"You're paranoid Ron. Danny is watching the camp and I'm sure he won't let a monkey in." Kim said, still sleepy. That was until something flew overhead of her and she heard fighting.

-

Danny was fighting Lord Fisk, who was disguised as a ninja, as he had grabbed the Jade Monkey. Danny couldn't use his ghost powers, and he couldn't fight to his full strength because he didn't want to kill him. "I could use some help here." Danny called out.

-

Kim got out of her small tent and leapt into action. "Good thing you were keeping watch Danny." She said as she joined the fight.

-

Lord Fisk diverted both of Danny and Kim's attacks and hit them with stronger attacks. Kim kicked the Jade Monkey away from Lord Fisk. Ron caught the statue, but then started to freak out, letting Fisk get it back after he kicked both Danny and Kim to the ground. Fisk made his escape as they were getting up off of the ground. Kim growled at the loss.

-

After a few moments, Lord Fisk, not disguised as a ninja, came out of his tent with Bates. "What happened?" He asked, knowing full well the Jade Monkey was in his tent.

-

"A hooded ninja stole the Jade Monkey." Danny told him, using the pain of the loss to glare at him.

-

'He has the monkey in his tent.' Scylla told Danny through the telepathic link.

-

"How shockingly awful." Lord Fisk said.

-

"Yes, awfully shocking milord." Bates added to his master's words.

-

"Danny must have been right. Word of our discovery must've gotten out." Lord Fisk said. "Oh, rot. If only your bravery was not wasted." He said, putting a little emphasis on wasted.

-

Kim punched her hand with an angry look on her face before looking at Danny, who was still glaring at Fisk. A small Scylla landed on her shoulder and told her what had really happened and their plan going forward. She nodded subtly at Danny, who managed to stop glaring at Fisk. "We'll find the thief at some point, Lord Fisk." Kim told the evil mastermind.

-

The sun was starting to rise when the cleanup of the fight was finished. "Dude, I thought you were only gonna be on watch for a couple hours?" Ron asked Danny.

-

"I guess I lost track of time. I didn't want to risk waking Kim up too early and her getting hurt because she was too tired." Danny told the blond boy. He saw Kim standing alone, watching the sunrise. "I'm gonna go talk to her. She might be taking the loss a bit personally." He said as he went to her side. "How are you holding up?" Danny asked his girlfriend.

-

"I'll do much better when we recover the Jade Monkey Statue." Kim said before turning to face Danny. "Are you sure you want to go out with me today? You haven't slept yet?" She asked.

-

"I'm fine, Kim. I can go days without sleep. I'll sleep after our date." Danny told her. "Are you having second thoughts about the date? Because if so, it can just be a test of your ability and not a date." He said, worried that he blew his chance with Kim.

-

"No, that's not it. It's just, what if we wait until after we get the statue, then we can go on our date?" Kim asked.

-

"I already have a clone watching over Fisk and will steal all the statues when I get the chance. Maybe for a cover, Ron and my clone can go to Fisk and ask more about the statues." Danny said in Gholric. "Will that be a good enough distraction?" He asked in English.

-

"Yes. That can work. Thank you for assuring me." Kim said as she leaned into Danny's chest. Kim's Kimmunicator beeped, signaling Wade was calling. She answered the Kimmunicator. "Hey Wade, is our ride here yet?" Kim asked, embarrassed at almost being caught doing something.

-

"They should be there shortly. Did I interrupt something?" Wade teased.

-

"No. We weren't doing anything." Danny said calmly, because in his mind they definitely weren't doing anything.

-

"Yeah, you weren't interrupting at all, did you make the file we asked for?" Kim changed the subject to the time date.

-

"Yep." Wade said, popping the 'p'. "I'll send it over now so you can go over it." He said as he clicked some keys on his keyboard. Both of their communicators pinged at the new message. "There. Your ride should be there in an hour. I'll send you the coordinates." Wade said before he hung up.

-

"Hey, lovebirds. Lord Fisk and his manservant are leaving. Just so you know." Ron called out as he walked over to where Danny and Kim were standing. "What were you guys talking about?" He asked.

-

"Just about our date." Danny said, looking into the middle distance. "Okay, they're gone now. Ron let me tell you what really happened last night." He said as he had Ron sit on the ground.

"Scylla, Charybdis, and I have been getting bad vibes off of his lordship since we met him. I told the ectopi to keep watch over him and his valet the whole time, they are still doing so with a clone of me." Danny started telling the story of last night.

"The ectopi overheard Monty's plans to stage the theft of the statue so he could throw us off of his trail. He was the hooded ninja last night. I let him get away with it because he already had the other three statues he needed to get his 'mystical monkey power' which very well could be real. The statue we retrieved didn't have much energy on it according to Kim." Kim nodded at that part.

-

"I was told this earlier after the fight." Kim started. "Scylla told me directly to my ear, which was weird, but I was able to keep a straight face, anyhow, we are gonna use you and Danny's clone to retrieve the four statues from Lord Fisk while we test my time travel abilities." She told Ron.

-

"My clone will be human during this time, so he can't help you as much as Phantom could, but you could get superpowers if the ritual works." Danny told Ron, trying to find a bright side.

-

"So, I could become a halfa like you?" Ron asked Danny.

-

"I don't know if you'll be 'like me' but you should have spiritual powers after the ritual, which could happen before or after we steal back the statues." Danny told the blond boy.

-

"Okay, I'll do it." Ron said to the couple. "I'll become what I fear most to get superpowers." He said as he stood up and put his fist onto his chest. Ron then thought about the situation some more. "Wait a minute, while I'm gonna be facing my fears, you two will be going on a date together? That doesn't seem fair." Ron said.

-

"You also have to keep my involvement out of your description of the events. Say Wade was using a Holo-Kim to trick you into going to Monty Fisk's house alone." Danny suggested.

-

"Why can't you just go as Phantom?" Kim asked. "We would officially work together with Phantom, and he wouldn't have to lie as much." She suggested the idea to both boys.

-

"I guess I didn't really think it through, we are either gonna steal them or destroy them, so there's not really the need for subterfuge. And Jazz said that your parents are gonna allow you to work for mine. As well as I can regularly join you guys on missions." Danny told them.

-

Creos flew out of Kim's pocket and floated between the three heroes. "Not that I don't like the moment you three are having, maybe you should have it closer to the coordinates, they're pretty far." They said and flew back into Kim's pocket.

-

"Yeah, okay. We can even check out the file Wade made for us on the way." Danny suggested as they made their way towards the coordinates.

-

"Yeah, I don't really know much about the World's Fairs. I wonder what kind of shops they have." Kim said as she pulled out her communicator and pulled up the file. "We should totally check out the perisphere. That's what it says that many people do first there." She said.

-

"Ooh, that's the one where you see the 'city of tomorrow', right?" Danny asked as he pulled it up on his communicator.

-

"Yeah, Democracity is what it was actually called." Kim said as she read it on her file.

-

"We should totally check out the first robot, Electro the Moto-man. Because by then the word for robot was less than two decades old, and he was the first robot Americans would have seen." Danny said, reading the file word for word.

-

"It sounds like you guys are gonna do a paper on your date." Ron spoke up. "Maybe you should wait until you're there to check out the file to surprise yourselves." He suggested.

-

"Ooh, we should totally do a paper on the World's Fair." Kim said excitedly. "Doing it through time travel makes it exciting." She said, looking at Danny with a hopeful look.

-

"I don't see why not. It does sound fun, and it might get your father off of my back if we do it like that." Danny said, rubbing the back of his head. "It's really up to you, since it's your power and all." He told Kim.

-

"You're right, my dad is going to be so mad when he hears that we're dating." Kim said, worried about the future. "You let me worry about him though, I know how to deal with him." She said, not sounding so sure about herself.

-

"You guys know I was kidding right? Why would you make your date have homework?" Ron asked as they climbed a hill.

-

"Because a 'Time Paper' sounds more fun than a 'History Paper'." Kim said, defending the decision. "And it's not homework, it's journaling. We would write about our experiences there as we have them." She told the blond boy.

-

"Okay, just checking. Danny, where's Monkey Fist now?" Ron asked, butchering Lord Fisk's name.

-

"It's Lord Monty Fisk and he's on a private jet right now." Danny told the blond boy before going back to his file on the 1939 World's Fair. "We should check out some water shows in the amusement zone. That, or the parachute jump, but that got stuck a lot, so maybe not." He said to Kim.

-

"Yeah, we don't want to be stuck in the past for too long, even if it is only relative." Kim agreed. "What about the Futurama? The city of 20 years in the future as portrayed in the 1940's." Kim suggested

-

"The one that predicted highways?" Danny asked, getting a nod from Kim. "That could be fun. Let's hope we don't get separated from each other by doing that." He said.

=

The trio made it to the coordinates Wade gave them to meet their ride, who was waiting for them as they arrived. The three teenagers climbed in the plane, and it took off heading for America. Kim and Danny kept making small talk about their 'paper' on the World's Fair and Ron taking a nap as they headed off.

-

Danny decided to call his mother, knowing they would be up at this time, and tell her that they were heading home now. Maddie picked up the phone. "Hey mom, how was dinner last night?" Danny asked his mother.

-

"It was good, did Jazz tell you that you were allowed to go on missions regularly and that Kim can work for us?" Maddie asked, looking for confirmation.

-

"Yeah, did she tell you about my project with Kim?" Danny asked.

-

"You mean the one where she has been looking through your clothes deciding what you should wear to the 1940's? Yeah. Have fun with that. She also said that you retrieved a monkey statue from a monkey temple, how's that going?" Maddie asked.

-

"It went poorly, it got stolen by a hooded ninja. I wish I could have grabbed one of your experimental ecto-trackers so we could find the thief that took it." Danny told his mother. "I stayed up all night just so that wouldn't happen too. So much for that." Danny said before getting his phone taken away by Kim.

-

"He told us that he was only gonna take the first shift. He lied so I could sleep in. He could have totally slept last night if he told the truth." Kim told Maddie.

-

Danny took back his phone. "I only stayed up all night because I lost track of time and didn't want to wake Kim too early." He told his mother the truth.

-

"Danny, I know you can stay up for a week at a time, but you really shouldn't. It's not healthy for your human body to do such. Promise me you'll take a nap before your date today." Maddie said.

-

"I don't think I really need-" Danny was interrupted by his mother.

-

"Promise me Daniel." Maddie said sternly.

-

Danny sighed in defeat. "Fine, I promise to take a nap before my date with Kim." He said before Kim took his phone again.

-

"I'll hold him to it." Kim said. "Even if I have to hold him down for it to stick." She said before realizing what she just said. "I mean, I'm not, I'm sorry, don't tell my parents I said that." She said, worried her parents will get mad at her.

-

Danny took back his phone. "You better not tell her parents about that. She's already beating herself up as is after losing to the ninja, she doesn't need her parents mad at her for something she said in the moment." He told his mother sternly.

-

"I wasn't going to tell them anything. Though, you'd like it if she held you down wouldn't you?" Maddie asked her son

-

"That's a little much mom. But yes, it does sound comforting." Danny said, looking right at Kim as he did.

-

"That's not what I- you know what sure, that's what I meant." Maddie said to her son. "Anyways, your father and I are working on rebuilding the portal starting with new schematics. Do you want any input on it?" She asked, changing the subject.

-

"Yes, no exposed wires and the on-off buttons on the outside of the machine. We don't need to risk another accident because you didn't follow proper safety codes this time." Danny told his mother. "I'll add more of my two cents after my date with Kim, but those are my biggest concerns." He told his mother.

-

"That's understandable, remember to take a nap today before your date young man. She doesn't need you passing out on her, does she?" Maddie asked.

-

"No she doesn't. I'll get right on that nap mom. Bye." Danny said as he hung up his phone.

-

Kim wrapped her arm around his shoulder and pulled him into a side hug. "You can take your nap now, it'll take a few hours till we get home, we're not jumping out of this plane." She said as she stroked Danny's hair as he fell asleep on her shoulder.

=

"Danny, it's time to wake up." Kim said gently as she shook Danny's shoulder.

-

"Huh, okay." Danny said as he sat up and rubbed his eyes. "How long was I out?" He asked.

-

"Only a couple hours, I didn't think you wanted to sleep when we got there. We still have an hour." Kim told her boyfriend.

-

"Okay, thanks. Sorry if I drooled." Danny apologized. "Let me call my mom that we're close to home." He said as he pulled his phone out of his pocket, sounding tired as he did so. He pulled his mom up on his phone and she answered. "Hey mom, we're nearing the states, just wanted to let you know."

-

"Good to know. Did you sleep on the way here?" Maddie asked.

-

"Yes mother, I took a nap." Danny told his mother before Kim pulled his hand to have access to his phone.

-

"I have the pictures to prove it, in case you think he lied." Kim told Maddie. "He fell straight to sleep on my shoulder." She said, smiling at Danny.

-

"Good to know. Please send it to me or Jazz when you get the chance." Maddie said to Kim. "Jazz has outfits for you both to choose from, so come by our house when you can. You should probably talk to your parents soon as well, they didn't take learning about you asking my son out as soon as you left my house." She told Kim as they hit some turbulence.

-

"How did they find out?" Kim asked Danny's mother, glaring at Danny.

-

"Danny texted us about where the mission was going to be and added that you asked him out and asked for advice for clothing." Maddie told Kim. "Jazz told the twins, hoping to have the sibling teasing thing done, but the twins told your parents as soon as possible." She explained.

-

"Danny!" Kim whined at her boyfriend.

-

"I didn't know what to wear." Danny tried to defend himself.

-

"The proper social protocol is to go on a few dates first before telling your family." Maddie told her son. "That's what your dad and I did with our relationship." She said, sounding nostalgic. "Any breaks in your case on the ninja thief?" She asked the couple.

-

"One moment." Kim said to Danny's mother. Looking at Danny, who was looking into the middle distance.

-

"Yes, we found where the Jade Monkey and its matching set is." Danny said to his mother. "Think you can tell Phantom about them, I think it's ectoplasmic in nature." He said to his mother. "Have him meet Ron later to go and meet someone who can tell us more about the monkeys." Danny told his mother.

-

"I understand. The twins told us to remind you to get his signature for them." Maddie said to the duo.

-

"Thanks mom. I'm gonna call Jazz and see if she can tell me about the outfits she has planned." Danny told his mom.

-

"Okay, good luck on your date." Maddie said as she hung up the phone.

-

"I still can't believe you told your family about us dating." Kim said in a huff.

-

"Again, I didn't know what to wear." Danny tried to defend himself before calling Jazz.

-

"Put her on speaker phone." Kim said and Danny did so.

-

"Hey little brother, what's up?" Jazz asked as she answered the phone.

-

"We're nearing the states now. You're on speaker phone so Kim can join the conversation about what outfits you prepared." Danny told Jazz.

-

"Good to know. I have five outfits for each of you." Jazz said. "Kim, I don't know your size, but I mixed some of my old clothes and my current ones, they should fit, hopefully." She said to Kim. There was some conversation in the background, Danny's mother's voice being distinctly heard. "Mom just said that you have pictures of Danny sleeping, you better send them to me." Jazz said with an eagerness in her voice.

-

"Don't worry, I will. Why did you make me some outfits? I overheard Danny asking you last night, and he only said that you should make him some outfits." Kim said to Danny's sister.

-

"What can I say, I'm an overachiever." Was all Jazz could say to Kim. "You don't have to wear them." She said, "Sorry if I overstepped some bounds."

-

"It's fine, I'll just wear something from my own closet. I need to go home and do damage control after you let slip that I asked Danny out." Kim told Jazz. "My brothers' always do public teasing when it comes to the family. They were always gonna tell my parents." She told her.

-

"Sorry, I didn't know. I'll remember that next time." Jazz said, embarrassed at what she did.

-

"I hope there's not gonna be a next time." Kim said. "I'll let you talk to Danny alone about the outfits." She said to Jazz and Danny turned off the speaker phone.

Phantom was watching Lord Monty Fisk and his valet Bates in Lord Fisk's castle. Phantom and his ectopi had watched as they carried in the 'stolen' Jade Monkey, his ghost sense going off when the fourth Jade Monkey was placed on its pedestal.

-

Lord Fisk was in a sitting room waiting for Bates to bring him his tea. "Bates! Bates!" He yelled out, impatient with his servant.

-

"Coming, milord." Bates said as he came into the room holding a tea tray. "You know, milord. I do wonder if it might have been a mistake to call in Kim Possible and her team." He told his master.

-

"Nonsense, the plan worked perfectly." Lord Fisk said to his servant. "They retrieved the item, didn't they?" He asked.

-

"Milord could have handled those primitive booby traps." Bates said just before he tripped on the carpet. The tea tray left his hand and flew towards Lord Fisk.

-

Lord Fisk caught the cup, kettle, and tray with his hands and feet, surprising Phantom and his ectopi. "And risk injuring these hands?" He asked angrily at Bates for not realizing the importance.

-

'So Ron was right to call him Monkey Fist.' Phantom thought to himself.

-

Lord Fisk poured himself a cup of tea with his foot. "Besides, by masquerading as the ninja, I threw suspicion off of me." He told his servant before throwing the tea tray away, it smashing against a wall.

-

"Uh, you know best, of course, milord." Bates said to his master, not liking how his lordship broke the tea set. Bates went to a wall mounted candle set and opened the fireplace.

-

'Total fire hazard.' Phantom thought to himself.

-

"And now destiny awaits." Lord Fisk said as he and Bates walked down the stairs behind the fireplace. "For at last I have all four Monkeys." He said as he reached a monkey themed ritual room. Laughing maniacally as he changed his clothes.

-

Phantom and his ectopi followed him, Phantom started recording what was happening and streaming it to Wade with a message to keep quiet. Wade sent back a message saying that he would do so.

-

"Stunning in its monkeyocity." Bates said as he examined the 'stolen' Jade Monkey.

-

"It is magnificent." Lord Fisk said, posing as a monkey fighting stance. "And now, Mystical Monkey Power will be mine!" He exclaimed.

-

"You mean that figuratively, of course, milord." Bates said to his master as he struck another pose.

-

"What's that Bates?" Lord Fisk asked, side-eyeing his servant with a glare.

-

"Uh, well… to truly believe that old myth would be crazy." Bates answered, starting to fear his master's sanity.

-

'Bad move dude.' Phantom thought to himself at Bates' words.

-

"Crazy, you say?" Lord Fisk raised a wide-eyed eyebrow. "Like it was crazy to spend the family fortune on radical genetic mutation and dangerous experimental surgery?" He asked, sounding more and more crazy with each word he said. "Like it was crazy to become a man-monkey who violates every law of nature and science?" He asked as he stomped over to Bates and stood over him. "It's a touch unconventional." He said, backing off and sounding a little sane, before putting his hand on Bates' chest. "Now start the preparations for my ascension to my magic monkey powers." He threatened Bates with his hand close to his throat.

-

"Of course, milord." Bates said as he went right to do what he was told.

-

Phantom made another clone and sent him to gather Ron. Phantom-1 stayed behind with his ectopi and recorded everything that was happening with the preparations. 'Danny, it's starting soon. I sent a clone to pick Ron up, but I'm staying here to record everything in case it's needed for a criminal case.' Phantom sent a telepathic message to his human original self.

-

'Got it. We just landed so we don't need to do it in midair.' Danny sent a message back

+=

Ron was walking to the meet up point that he was going to meet with one of Phantom's clones so that he would take him to Monty Fisk's castle. Ron turned into an alleyway to find Phantom waiting for him. Phantom waved his arm in a gesture that said to follow him and he opened a portal. Ron gulped his fear down and followed Phantom into the portal.

On the other side of the portal was a door to the castle of Lord Monty Fisk. It was giant compared to other doors Ron had seen. Ron hit the doorbell and Bates quickly answered it.

-

Bates gasped at seeing Ron and someone who looked vaguely like Danny at the door. "You are Ron Stoppable, who is this with you?" He asked

-

"I'm Phantom, I'm here to talk with Lord Fisk about the four Jade Monkeys he's discovered." Phantom said, offering a hand to Bates as a greeting. Bates took the offered hand and shook it. "I believe that they have ghostly properties that shouldn't be in the hands of humans. Ron here has volunteered to introduce me to his lordship." Phantom said as he took his hand back.

-

"I don't believe what you heard was right, he has only discovered the one and it was stolen. But if it'll make you more comfortable, I'll take you to meet with Lord Fisk." Bates said as he opened the door wider.

-

Ron walked inside and Phantom flew to give off a more ghostly appearance. This made Bates give a double take, but he continued to lead them to his master.

-

"The monkey-phobic friend of Kim Possible and a denizen of the Infinite Realms." Lord Fisk said, surprising both Phantoms that he knew about the Infinite Realms. "How delightful." He said in a slightly strained voice.

-

"Sorry to bother you Lord Fisk, but when we told Phantom about the mission you gave us, it reminded him of some artifacts that were lost from the Realms." Ron said, trying not to sound too scared.

-

"So, you know all about it." Lord Fisk snapped. "About my obsession with Tai-shing Piqua." He said as he pulled the lever to open the fireplace.

-

"Say again?" Ron asked, confused about how the conversation went.

-

"Oh, so we're playing stupid I see." Lord Fisk said "Tai-shing Piqua! Monkey Kung-Fu!" He said to the blond human. He groaned and hopped off into the staircase behind the fireplace.

-

"Is it just me, or is he walking funny?" Ron asked before they followed Lord Fisk down the stairway.

-

"But did you know that I spent the family fortune to get these?" Lord Fisk said as he took off his gloves, showing Phantom and Ron his hairy hands. Ron gasped.

-

"What's so special about your hands? They're just hairy." Phantom said, which enraged Lord Fisk.

-

"What about these?" Lord Fisk asked as he jumped and showed them his feet.

-

"Okay, now I see what's special." Phantom said.

-

"Ah! Bad road, bad road, bad road." Ron yelled as he saw the monkey feet Lord Fisk had.

-

Lord Monty Fisk stepped in the center of the four pedestals and the statues started to blast him with energy. He was laughing hysterically as they did so. "Bow to my power!" He yelled at the two people here to stop him.

-

'He must not know much about the denizens of the Infinite Realms if he thinks this will make me bow.' Phantom thought to himself as he shielded Ron from the light.

-

"I have to do that?" Ron whispered into Phantom's ear, who gave him a nod.

-

"It's too late for you to steal my power away from me!" Lord Fisk yelled at Phantom from the air. He flipped down to the ground after the energy dissipated. "I am Monkey Fist!" He yelled, introducing his spiritual name.

-

"What's with halfas and having separate names." Ron whispered and chuckled quietly.

-

"I didn't need to steal them from you before you used them." Phantom told the monkey-man. "You won't be able to make me bow, because you don't have enough power." He said, goading Monkey Fist into a fight. It worked as he leapt at Phantom with intent to strike. Phantom grabbed him in midair and threw him to the side.

-

When Phantom flew towards the man-monkey, Ron ran to the center of the pedestals. The statues shot Ron with even brighter energy and he groaned in pleasure. "Oh yeah, I'm feeling it." Ron yelled as he was lifted into the air. Rufus came out of his pocket and stretched his body, squealing 'yay'.

-

"No! Mystical Monkey Power is reserved for me and me alone!" Monkey Fist exclaimed as he saw Ron get the power. Phantom held him back with one hand and let the process finish.

-

Ron fell to the ground and landed on his feet. Striking poses for Tai-Shing Piqua that Monkey Fist was posing for when he was fighting. "I must disagree." He said after he was done posing. He imitated a monkey and kung-fu battle cries.

-

Phantom let Monkey Fist go and attack Ron, who Phantom could sense had the greater power as he, the other Phantom and the ectopi went to grab the statues.

As Ron and Monkey Fist were fighting, Phantom used his portal power to send the statues to his room, where Danny was waiting to receive them. Danny still hasn't gone on his date yet, trying to find the right outfit for the date.

After the last monkey was through the portal, Phantom dispersed the clone and continued to record the fight for review of Ron's new powers.

-

Ron landed the final hit on Monkey Fist, and the villainous monkey-man fell unconscious on the ground. Ron was out of breath from all the fighting "Where's Bates?" Ron asked in between breaths.

-

Phantom looked around and didn't find him. "Must have turned tail and ran when he discovered how crazy his master really was." He told the blond human. "What do you normally do when you defeat a villain? Do you wait for the cops?"

-

"Yeah, we have Wade call them in." Ron told the half dead clone boy.

-

"Okay, but you know that I can't be here when they arrive, right? Or do I?" Phantom asked himself. "We can just say the excuse you gave to Monkey Fist and say that you called me in after deciding that it was ghostly in nature." Phantom said.

-

"I think you should go, I'll handle the cops here. Don't want to risk your secrets just for one villain." Ron said. "We can still say you were involved, though." He added. "Mostly because Monkey Fist already knows you were here." He said.

-

"No. I think I'll stay, like you said, he already knows I was here, might as well tell everyone that I work with you, since you'll be working with me in the ghost hunting business." Phantom said to Ron, who nodded at the logic.

=

After Phantom and Ron dealt with the cops, luckily there were no reporters, Phantom made a portal to the alleyway near Ron's house.

-

"Hey Ron, try meditation when you get home. Look inwards and find the source of the magical power you now have, that should help immensely since you don't have experience with Tai-Shing Piqua like Monkey Fist. That fight was luck and you know it." Phantom told Ron.

-

"Can you help with it?" Ron asked the half ghost clone boy. "You seem to have a good sense of what to do with leading other people through meditation." He said, trying to get Phantom to do this for him.

-

"Yeah sure. Why not." Phantom said.

-

"Let's do it at Sidney's place. I don't want my parents to know about you yet." Ron said

-

"That's fine. We can do it at my house in Sidney's realm." Phantom said as he opened a portal to the ghostly Fenton Works. They two boys walked through. "Sid's probably gonna know that we're here, let's try and do this fast and maybe I can watch as my original goes on their date with Kim." Phantom said as they walked into the ghostly building.

-

"That's fine for me. How is that gonna go with your head? Don't you and your clones share memories?" Ron asked the half ghost clone boy.

-

"We can, but we don't actively have the memories of the others until they are dispersed." Phantom told the blond human. "Now, sit down on the couch crosswise and look into yourself, clear out anything except your newfound power. How it felt when you got it, how you used it." Phantom explained to the human.

-

"Okay, that I can do. I just got it." Ron said as he followed Phantom's orders.

-

"After you reach the mindscape, you should see orbs flying around. When you reach that point, merge the orbs two by two until you have one large orb." Phantom explained to the blond human boy. "After that, you should see a blinding light and feel lighter and stronger, at least, that is how it is for ghosts and spirits.

-

"I understand. Now let me work this out." Ron said as he closed his eyes.

+

Ron was in his own mindspace and found several orbs floating around of various sizes. Ron started to merge the smallest ones first. When he touched one of them, Ron could hear monkey screeching, which made him scared, but he continued with what Phantom had told him.

Ron couldn't believe that he was working with monkey powers. He has been afraid of anything primate since Camp Wannaweep. Now he has monkey energy inside of him that he is willingly going to use. 'Phantom is good for me.' Ron thought to himself.

Ron merged the smallest orbs until the last ones, hearing the monkey screeches each time, but feeling less and less scared of them. He moved on to the next smallest orbs and felt the energy he felt while fighting Monkey Fist, he felt his muscles tense and strain at the feel of the fight again. As he continued to merge the orbs, the strain and pain was felt less and less until he couldn't feel it at all.

The next size orbs hurt his mind as he touched them. Ron theorized that it was information on the powers, because the more he put them together the more he knew about Tai-Shing Piqua and other things that come with his new powers, like quaking steps and force pushing.

The last size orbs felt just like the energy the statues blasted at him when Ron got the powers. He felt his muscles flex and relax repeatedly more and more the more orbs he merged together. He swore that he could feel he was getting stronger and stronger with each merge.

When Ron finally started to merge the orbs into one large orb that would become his core. He felt everything that each layer of orbs had for him. He heard the deafening screeching of the monkeys, he felt the strain of his fight with Monkey Fist, more knowledge about Tai-Shing Piqua and the powers, and the flexing feel of the energy the statues hit Ron with. But instead of the feelings and sounds getting weaker, the feelings and sounds kept increasing and increasing. Ron was just about to quit when he had the last orb merged.

After the final orb was merged there was a bright light, as blinding as could be in Ron's mind. Ron felt like his body and brain was burning from the blinding light. He tried to open his eyes, but couldn't, he felt paralyzed fully. He doesn't know how long the pain was going on for, but it started to feel less and less. He couldn't move or open his eyes until the pain had all but dissipated from his body and brain.

Ron opened his eyes, finally, and sat up. He felt lighter and stronger, just like Phantom said. Ron flexed his arms and found that his body looked different. Ron stood up off the couch and found that he was taller. 'What exactly happened to me?' He thought to himself.

-

"How are you feeling, Ron?" Phantom asked him, Sidney, Johnny, Kitty, Danny, and Kim were standing in front of him.

-

"Don't tell me that I ruined your date today?" Ron asked the couple that were his friends.

-

"No, we just got back." Danny told Ron. "I was just about to disperse the clone when you woke up." He said.

-

"Oh, that's good. How long was I out?" Ron asked as Danny dispersed the clone Phantom.

-

"Only an hour." Danny informed Ron.

-

"Okay, it felt longer. Did you two only go on your date for an hour?" Ron asked the half dead boy.

-

"No, we were actually there for a greater part of the day. We had to use two different portals to get back to this time period." Kim told her best friend. She took a picture of Ron and showed him what he looked like.

-

Ron had blue fur, almost glowing in its etherealness, he was six feet tall and had a long tail. Ron pulled at his tail and felt it through his spine. "I hope this isn't permanent." Ron said as he let go of his tail.

-

"Try flexing your core and focus on your human appearance. That's how I changed between my human and ghost forms when I first got my powers after the accident." Danny suggested.

-

Ron did as Danny suggested and flexed his core. Two rings formed at his center, and they went up and down respectively, turning him completely human, he still had the height. "I guess I finally got my growth spurt." Ron quipped as he looked down at himself. "I don't still have a tail do I?" He asked and he turned around.

-

"No, don't worry." Danny assured Ron. "Did you get any information on your new powers?" He asked as he sat down with Sidney.

-

"A lot of information. Especially about the monkey kung-fu the statues were supposed to give." Ron said.

-

"Good. That means our whole group has spectral abilities. But you can decide if you want to keep it a secret or not." Danny told Ron.

-

"I'm keeping my weapon a secret, if you're gonna ask me." Kim told Ron.

-

"Then I'll keep my powers a secret as well." Ron declared to the group of mostly ghosts. "I'll need to go clothes shopping." He stated the obvious.

-

"That you do, my man." Johnny said. "I can help you pick out some rockin' clothes." He offered to the blond half human/half monkey halfa.

-

"Does he count as a 'halfa'?" Kitty asked.

-

"If we're going on our sense of spiritual energy, yes, but he isn't dead." Sidney said to the green haired ghost girl.

-

"I wouldn't mind being called a halfa." Ron said to the group, knowing that it's a huge decision.

-

"Then a halfa you shall be. I don't want to be the only confirmed halfa." Danny told the blond human. "You are half human and half monkey now."

-

"Right on." Ron said to the group of ghosts.
