I was on my way back to the annex wing when one of the servants quickly approached me.
“Lady Kayla is waiting in the drawing room, Your Grace.”
I nodded my head and promptly headed that way.
The moment I stepped into the drawing room, I took a deep breath.
So that’s her.
The woman that had been sitting on the drawing room sofa stood up with a smile on her face.
“The Duchess of Carnoire? It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
She greeted me pleasantly, just like she would any other.
I forced myself to swallow my anger at the presence of eyes that scanned me with a smile.
Though Lady Kayla had once been married to a rich merchant, she was widowed after a year or so into her marriage.
She inherited all of her husband’s riches, and she was currently busy enjoying life with the nobility title she bought for herself.
She only started to work as a governess as a way to enter the world of nobility.
