Summer's heart sank, the image of Hope's smiling face coming before her eyes. No, she couldn't lose her. She would do anything to arrange the money.
"Hope's surgery should happen as soon as you get a donor," she said with resolution. "I won't miss the chance. I'll arrange the money… whatever it takes."
Summer came out, tears stinging her eyes. Her steps slowed, almost dragging. The thought of where to raise the money was eating her up from within.
