Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: First Transfiguration Class

Roy Valvas walked into the Transfiguration classroom, a large room filled with sunlight streaming through tall windows. Gryffindor students were already seated on one side of the room, chatting quietly, while the Hufflepuff students, including Roy, were grouped on the other. Roy chose a seat next to Hermione Granger, who immediately perked up when he sat beside her.

Roy couldn't resist teasing her just a little. "So, Miss Know-It-All, ready to show everyone how much you've studied over the summer?" he asked with a sly grin. Hermione's ears turned red, and she quietly muttered, "I—I've only read a few extra chapters…" which only made Roy chuckle softly.

Roy's attention then shifted to the tabby cat sitting at the front of the classroom. Its fur had distinctive square markings around the eyes, and several students were trying to coax it with treats and little toys, but the cat remained completely indifferent. Most students assumed Professor McGonagall hadn't arrived yet, but Roy's sharp eyes detected something unusual — there was a subtle magical aura surrounding the cat.

The door to the classroom suddenly burst open with a loud bang, making several students jump. In walked Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley, flustered and clearly late. They glanced at the tabby cat on the desk.

Before they could even react, the cat gave a swift flick of its tail, and in a puff of emerald smoke, transformed into Professor Minerva McGonagall. Her stern gaze swept the classroom before landing on Harry and Ron.

"Perhaps it would be more useful," she said in her sharp, commanding voice, "if I were to transfigure Mr. Potter or yourself into a pocket watch? That way, one of you might be on time."

Harry and Ron stammered apologies, both flustered, and quickly took their seats. Other students exchanged amused glances, while some quietly murmured in admiration at the transformation. Roy, however, simply smiled knowingly, fully aware of the cat's true nature and appreciating the subtle magical mastery behind the animagus form.

Once Harry and Ron were seated, Professor McGonagall began the Transfiguration lesson, focusing on simple objects first, while Roy kept his eyes alert, observing both the professor and the other students. He noticed the Gryffindors' varied skill levels and quietly calculated in his mind how quickly he could master the lesson compared to them.

Next, he glanced at Hermione, who was furiously taking notes. Roy leaned slightly and whispered, teasing, "Careful, or you'll burn through your quill before the class ends." Hermione's blush deepened, and she shot him a quiet glare. Roy couldn't help but chuckle silently, enjoying the quiet companionship during the class.

Meanwhile, Professor McGonagall moved deftly through the classroom, demonstrating basic transformations, all while keeping a keen eye on her students, unaware that Roy Valvas was already far ahead of the standard first-year abilities.

This first Transfiguration lesson set the tone for Roy's Hogwarts life: observing everything carefully, teasing gently, and excelling in magic while blending seamlessly with his peers — all without revealing the vast depths of his power.
